timberlake MTB Challenge
The timberlake MTB challenge time trial and skills course is now open!
“Its fun, fast, and intense. I cant believe how fast my heart is beating.”
It should take the average rider 20 minutes to complete, a good rider will be in the 13-15 min range. It will test your mountain bike skills to the max with 10 purpose built obstacles, including: bridges, balance beams, jumps, log piles and the seesaw. This is not for complainers, there is an impossible uphill and a number of sandy sections, you may well fall off!
Sign in at the MTB Start (left of the WildWoods office) with a self issue permit. Cost R10 for a day pass.
This is Rob Broster at the start. His lap, the fastest official time of 13:41 min. You could see he meant business by the way he attacked the first hill. Record your unofficial and official lap times at the start station.
Some Tasters of what to expect…
… First bridge section…
This is not a full faced helmet down hill rush. It is cross country mountain biking with obstacles that mean you have to keep paying attention. While your family relaxes at timberlake sneak up to the start and lets see what you are made of!
…Seesaw on the hill.
As an option you can choose to donate R10 or R50 towards planting an indigenous somewhere on the course. Your grandchildren may well be riding in an yellow wood forest that you helped create!
